Worked perfectly with no problem, this was the only socket that worked on a stripped spark plugThis set of tools saved me a lot of many and time.Great quality and it gets those rusty stripped bolts out with ease. LifesaverWorked great for my rusty stripped spark plugs the tool bit right in and didn’t slip at allFinally had a chance to use these. Pulling the rear subframe isolator bolts on a 93 Tbird that has spent it's whole life in New England weather. The result of which is that nothing on the underside of the car is going to move without significant effort. The isolators came out with a sawsall and sledge hammer which unfortunately leaves a 1/2 inch long stub of the bolt sticking out a hole in the frame. No head left, just the rusted remains of threads. Pick one of these extractors, tap it onto the bolt gently, apply a little heat, hit the socket with a impact wrench and right out it comes. Beautiful. Only trick so far is that you need enough length for the flutes to have a chance to cut into the fastener to hold. The second bolt needed one extractor to round off the high parts of the bolt, then the next size smaller to successfully grab and hold. No sign of damage/wear to any of the extractors used so they seem like they'll last. But then, at the price of these, if they work once, they've paid for themselves. Only complaint is that the extractors really hold onto the bolt which creates the issue that once you have the bolt out of wherever it was originally, it is now held fast in the extractor - would be nice if this kit included a punch of suitable diameter to make it easy to pop the removed fastener back out of the extractor. This set was able to remove a rounded nut on a long bolt. The depth of these sockets was great. The way it gripped the rounded nut and was able to remove it was just perfect. I have tried to use other brands of nut extractors unsuccessfully and was skeptical. I had success with this Irwin set. Something about the way these are designed just makes them work.I don’t have pictures but I had a rusted tail gate bolt that was cut in half from the rust so I couldn’t get it out with a normal socket wrench. I had no other way to get it out than to drill it and cut but I didn’t want to work that hard. So I made a chance and bought this to see if It can get it out. What a miracle!! It worked. Me and my dad was so relieved and happy! We got to change the old and rusty tail gate from his truck with a brand new one. I would recommend this to ppl who’s having second doubts about it not working to get rusted and weird looking shaped bolts out!I only used one of the extractors thus far but it was worth every dollar. Used this on my 2006 Ford F150 with the 5.4 motor which is notorious for breaking and freezing in the heads. I had luck with a few tricks getting 5 of them out but these 3 pictured just wouldn't budge and caused me to start rounding out the hex. I panicked and then did some searching and was pointed to try these.I read a few reviews and a lot of people suggest to hammer these down, no need just give it downward pressure and turn left, needed a bit of leverage and a bigger breaker bar but it worked awesome. One of the back cylinders with very nad clearance for me to push down I needed to tap it in lightly with a hammer but that's just because I had no choice with getting both hands in there. Panicked a bit when it was spinning again but I gently tapped the extractor down and did the same as others and it came right out no issues. saved me a ton of money bringing it to the shop and these are by far some of the most useful tools for repair work! Highly recommend everyone have these in your tool box!!!I did try to use this product to remove a seized spark plug just stripped it tried the next size down and it stripped it could be my fault didn’t use an impact gun not sure if that would’ve made a difference Canadian tire sells them under there brand Half the price on sale not sure if the quality is as good????$75 later and I still have the same issueIrwin has been my tools of trust, however, this is really disappointing. I had to change the braking rotor and pads of my Mazda 6, 2006, but got a rounded 14mm bolt on the caliper anchor. I ordered this specially for the project, but the 14mm socket didn't work. As a backup, I also bought the MAXIMUM Drive Impact Bolt Remover Set of 13 pieces for just 23 dollars as a sale price and its 14mm remover did the job immediately. Garbage from Irwin I got for 35 dollars. The kit and tools are of good quality though are a bit more costly than some other competing products available. I chose this because of the known good brand name and some of the reviews. I came across a rounded spark plug while trying to do standard vehicle maintenance on a used vehicle a family member purchased. A broken off spark plug or a damaged engine head were very stressful possible outcomes. Based on how that spark plug looked, I would think it was original so about 11 years and 250Km, fortunately some penetrating oil and these extractors got it out. This product was such a relief, had stripped spark plug in my ,04 Explorer. Orderd these online praying they would work and they sure did. Pounded the 5/8 on light with a hammer and cranked the old rusty plug right out(used penetrating fluid first). Good product defiantly worth it.So I had rounded off a 14mm nut when I used a standard socket when I needed a deep socket. In my defence it was underneith the starter motor so I had to go on feel alone. I tried just about every gizmo and combination to no avail. This was perfect and with one or two turns of the ratchet and it was off in my hand.Everyone who works on cars should have a set of these!
